Lola, 18 years old, is impulsive and passionate, studying for her diploma as a veterinary assistant she has bleached blonde hair and lives in a foster home with Samir, her best friend.
When her mother passes away, Lola’s estranged father Phillip tries to ensure that she will miss the funeral. Philippe is determined to fulfil Catherine’s final wish: for her ashes to be scattered near the North Sea, in the dunes of her childhood home. Meanwhile Lola is furious with her father and is determined to keep her mother company in this last journey.
Lola and Philippe take off together, both unwilling to share a car but equally determined to take Catherine home.
