Stephen Dunn

Stephen Dunn and Peter Knegt both hail from Canada (Dunn from Newfoundland, Knegt from Ontario) and met in the Toronto film community.  They first collaborated in 2011 on Picton Picturefest, a youth retreat in rural Canada where teenagers were invited to camp out and make a film over a weekend. Independently, Dunn has made several award-winning short films that have screened at festivals across the world (including 2011’s “Swallowed” and 2012’s “Life Doesn’t Frighten Me”) and was the youngest filmmaker ever selected for the Toronto Film Festival’s Talent Lab.  Meanwhile, Knegt has worked largely as a journalist and writer, working as online film magazine Indiewire’s Senior Editor from 2009-2013 and releasing his first book — a historical account of Canada’s LGBT rights movement — in 2012.
