Social Media Executive

We are looking for a Social Media and Outreach Executive to join our small close-knit team for an initial one-year contract. Based in London, Peccadillo Pictures is an award-winning, internationally recognised distributor of LGBTQ+ and world cinema titles, documentaries and short films. 

Your mission will be to increase the awareness and visibility of Peccadillo Pictures releases both old and new, engage with the audience and create conversations with content from our impressive catalogue of films.  

Our films range from award winners and festival favourites to DTV titles, documentaries, TV and web series and short films.

Your responsibilities will include:

-Creating assets that are optimised for each social media platform

-Post content that will engage the audience in conversation

-Plan campaigns – schedule and post content on our social media channels

-Increase awareness of our old and new releases

-Encourage audiences to visit our websites, to see our films in cinemas, watch on demand and to buy DVD and Blu-rays

-Respond to audience messages

-Analyse insights, campaigns and initiatives and report regularly to wider team

-Take part and contribute to marketing, PR, sales & distribution brainstorming meetings

-Watch and rewatch new and older content to create relevant social media assets

-Edit photos, videos and create memes with catchy (or snappy) captions

-Outreaching to relevant communities, micro influencers

-Manage day to day marketing, community and social media contacts

-Work and collaborate effectively with Peccadillo’s wider team

-Brief and work with external designers and video editors when required

-Carry out any other ad-hoc company tasks when required

Initial one-year fixed term contract commencing September 2022. While the position is based in our London office there will be opportunities to work remotely during part of the working week.

Key Attributes / Skills:

Essential:   

At least 18 months successful experience in working in social media with Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and TikTok

Excellent written English and communications skills

Ability to write impactful and accessible copy. Able to adapt to different film audiences

Have experience in photo and video editing with Photoshop, Premiere and Canva

An eye for design and strong attention to detail

Experience in briefing designers and editors

Up to the minute knowledge of social media community standards, best practice, and the ability to look out for opportunities

Ability to prioritise workflow, working on multiple social media channels and films at once and often to tight deadlines

Sound knowledge and extensive experience of scheduling, analytics insight, and use of social media tools

Some knowledge of how the film distribution industry operates in the UK

Ability to get things done

Good knowledge and capability to use MS office suites – Outlook, Word, Excel & PowerPoint & MS Teams

A passion for film, independent film, LGBTQ+ titles.

Desirable:  

Website optimisation, understanding of SEO and project management skills

Knowledge of the films that Peccadillo Pictures releases as well as similar content

Some understanding of how sales and social media inter-relate
