Description

1936: Germany are to host the 11th Olympic Games.

Under Nazi rule Germany’s leading high jumper, Jewish athlete Gretel Bergmann (Karoline
Herfurth – The Reader, Perfume, Passion) is excluded from the Olympic squad.
When the USA threaten to boycott the games the Nazi’s reluctantly agree to reinstate her but
at the same time set a plan in motion to ensure she can not win…

At the German training camp Bergmann meets fellow athlete and Nazi secret weapon Marie
Kettler (Sebastian Urzendowsky – The Way Back), who despite never having had any real
training has already broken high jump records. As the games draw near the two athletes form
an unlikely friendship – a friendship so dangerous that it could undermine Germany’s Olympic
victory by revealing a dark secret known only to the Nazi elite – that in fact Marie is not who
she seems.

Based on true events this is the story of one of the biggest Olympic scandals ever told.

  • "a fascinating look at Nazi intrigue... There is a real poignancy here that mad, passionate movie love stories often fail to achieve."
