Lucy Asten Elliott

Lucy Asten Elliott is an artist and filmmaker based in Glasgow, Scotland. Before writing and directing James Dean, she worked primarily in cinematography and camera. James Dean won a number of awards and commendations including a nomination for the Iris Prize. Lucy works a range of different mediums, including film, photography and illustration. Her work continues to explore themes such as LGBT identity and visibility with a continued focus on how we negotiate these dynamics within a family. Her company ‘Lock Up Your Daughters’ is a hub for queer filmmaking in Glasgow and Edinburgh providing training and experience to develop filmmaking within the Scottish LGBT community.
