Agnès Jaoui

Agnès Jaoui is a French actor, screenwriter and film director. At 15, she started studying drama at the prestigious Cours Florent in Paris. She appeared in several plays and films by Patrice Chéreau, Philippe Muyl, Cédric Klapisch and Alain Resnais with whom she won a Cesar for Best Supporting Acctress for her role in On Connaît la chanson (Same Old Song)

Jaoui is also one of France’s most successful female screenwriter and director, especially with her films co-written and co-stared with her former partner Jean-Pierre Bacri, including Look at Me and The Taste of Others, which received an Oscar nomination for Best Foreign Language Film. They are currently working on their new film, Place Publique.

Aurore, directed by Blandine Lenoir, in which Jaoui plays the main role, was a huge critical a public success in France.
