Janella Lacson

Growing up, Janella’s strongest desire was to be a filmmaker, having several of her own screenplays and short-films under her belt by the end of her senior year at Rosary High School. Her first short film entitled THE FIRST DATE, which she wrote and directed, was produced through Outfest and LifeWorks’ film- mentoring program: OutSet. THE FIRST DATE has screened at numerous film festivals all over the world, including NBC Short Cuts Festival, Newfest Film Festival, Fusion LGBT People of Color Film Festival, and Frameline 37: San Francisco International LGBT Film Festival. Janella was awarded the Audience Award for Outstanding Dramatic Short Film at Outfest 2012 for THE FIRST DATE.
